Currently three US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers are located in the state of New Mexico: Cibola County Correctional Center (CCCC), Otero County Processing Center (OCPC), and Torrance County Detention Facility (TCDF).
While each prison has its own history and context, all three are operated via intergovernmental services agreements, with the county serving as a passthrough between ICE and the private prison company.
CCCC, OCPC, and TCDF together have capacity to detain around 3,000 people in ICE custody.
All three facilities have long track records of both systematic abuse and collective struggle against such harm.
