LawLab 8 is the latest version of the LL client management software. It was released in 2024. It has advanced security features, comprehensive party and case management tools, automated appointment bookings, advanced permissions controls, and more. LL 6.0, which was last released on 2019 has reached the end of its life-cycle and will no longer be maintained or supported. This post provides a detailed step-by-step guide for successfully completing the migration.
- Go to https://signup-lawlab.innovationlawlab.org/users/sign_in
- If you have not logged in for a few months, you will need to reset your password using the forgot password feature (https://signup-lawlab.innovationlawlab.org/users/password/new)
- Once you login, you will see the following:
- Click on the green `Migrate to LawLab Pro` button

Read the dialog carefully, you will need to consent to the new terms and pricing prior to starting the migration.

Once you click on start migration, your instance will become unavailable and the migration will start. The first part of the migration is setting up the infrastructure, once that is done, you will receive an email letting you know you can begin the data migration. The best way to track the status is by following the side panel.
- Once you receive the email titled “Your LawLab site is ready for Data Migration!” you will need to grab and enter the credentials provided to you in the side panel. You can then proceed to login to the data migration page which will guide you through the data migration part of your instance.
